This little tool has saved me so much time and effort as well as saving my back.I work on boats and machinery, it is so handy to be able to route a wire easily, get it to go where it needs to go and not to have to stoop so much or craw into tight spaces. A very useful tool with a small footprint.

This is a "pass" product. It absolutely did not work for what I had hoped to use it for. I instead found a very inexpensive option at Harbor Freight that uses short sections of fiberglass rods that thread together. The problem with the Ancor fish tape is it's too floppy and extending and retracting the cable is terrible. This is a rebranded import piece of junk that doesn't live up to the Ancor name they stuck to the side of it.

So, this is a lot bigger than you would think it should be. The wire is a mere quarter inch, but the diameter of the whole thing is like 6 inches or so. Also, cranking it back in is not simple, needs a better design. But, overall it does do what it is supposed to do.

I used this to run the wires to rebuild my pontoon boat through 1"×1" aluminum tubing, it worked great.

I bought this because it was inexpensive and I needed it for one project, wiring a boat. It met expectations and I was able to fish wires through aluminum gunnels with no problem. The overall quality of the tool is about what I expected, Harbor Freight level. So if you have limited needs for a fish tape like I did and don't want to spend a lot of money, this is great. If you have daily or frequent need of a fish tape, then you may want to invest in a higher quality tool.
