I purchased two of these to use for terrariums. I'm very happy. They're sturdy and attractive. Personally, I'm not a fan of using fishbowls for fish because they're hard to heat and maintain in my experience, but I think these bowls are great for decorative purposes.

I ordered this bowl to replace one just like it of the same brand. I had the bowl for 12 years, then broke it while cleaning it. I had a friendly goldfish in the bowl for 3 years! Goldfish make a lot of waste, so I was going to get a beta fish. The pet store was out, so I got a gourami. They are similar to beta fish in being able to live in lower oxygen environments. It is a friendly fish that gets happy when I am in the room. It is in my kitchen. The bowl is easy to clean. I have a moss ball and a shrimp and a plant that grows out of control. To clean the bowl once per week, I scoop the fish and shrimp up in a small cup and remove the plants and moss ball. I empty the bowl in the sink and fill with water emptying as much as needed to get rocks clean with water running clear. Then I fill with water, dechlorinator, and add back living plants and animals. I dry the outside, and it is finished in less than 10 minutes.

This is a great bowl, sturdy and thick. My only complaint is the two seams down each side (ruins the visual effect), my smaller bowls never had this, but maybe it is normal in a larger one? Otherwise, this is great value for the money and my mossballs are very happy hanging out in this!

I’ve had this type of fish bowl before so I thought i would get the same quality for the same price. I think I’ll feel guilty if I put my fish in there because he won’t be able to see out
