This puller is fantastic. I have worn out many "come-along" cable pullers over the years. The cables fray quickly due to the small diameter of the pulley. Cable pullers usually have no bearings and the center of the drum wears quickly against the shaft. In contrast, this chain puller should last for years. I used it to move a number of large rocks. It moved a washing machine sized rock with ease. Unlike a come-along, this puller is also rated for use as a hoist. It has an automatic brake that prevents loads from dropping, and is designed with an adequate safety factor (required for lifting applications). This puller is much larger and heavier than it looks in the pictures. Seems to be well made, and operation was trouble-free.
