In the first 30 seconds the nut and bearing came off and rendered this tool totally useless give it no stars if I could 👎👎👎

Used this bit in a dremel to trim the end pieces of some new laminate countertops, it's a bit finicky to get everything right but the bit did work flawlessly. I used standard masking tape which held up better to protect the countertop from the bearing riding on it. Did 4 pieces and it's still as sharp as when I received it plus saved me from needing to buy a router and bit to finish the project. I would recommend verifying the tiny nut is tight but be careful not to over tighten it.

When the bit is assembled, it works just as it was intended to. The problem with the bit that I purchased was that the nut holding the bearing and washer in place on the shaft was apparently not properly tightened before it was packaged. It came apart during use and damaged my work. I didn’t check it, since that is not something that anyone would expect. I THINK I can repair the damage to my work, but since this damage occurred to a guitar under construction, if I can’t, it’s going to be VERY EXPENSIVE!!!Miraculously, I was able to find the bearing, washer and nut and re-assemble the bit.So, the bottom line is that I think this was an anomaly in the manufacturing process, and not indicative of the products coming from Amana Tool. My past purchases of their products have never had any similar problems and have functioned flawlessly. Absent this problem, I could easily give this product 5 stars.

I had to perform some home repairs after a leak. This included replacement of a big box store laminate countertop with a similar one. Installing one of these countertops requires attachment of hot-glued-on laminate end caps after cutting the countertop to size. The overlapping edges of the laminate end caps then need to be flush routed for a seamless installation. I have no router, but I do have a Dremel tool. This Amana tool has a 1/8" shank, which my Dremel can accept. It worked well, and while pricey, eliminated the need for me to purchase a router.

This bit works perfectly with a Dremel tool using the plastic router base that comes with many of them. Its ideal for small laminate trimming jobs where a full size laminate trimmer or router is too bulky to use. Cuts cleanly without marring the adjoining material. It's not a low-cost tool, but it's the only show in town and worth the price. Way easier than trying to use a utility knife or chisel, especially on PVC and 'Formica'.

I used this to trim an overhanging 2.5mm thick spruce top on a ukulele. It fell apart -- the nut (which was secured by wishful thinking) came off, the flat washer followed, and then the guide bearing. Without the guide bearing it dug into the sides of the instrument. Pi**-poor design, and an inexcusable lapse of QA in a router bit.I have never seen a router bit with the cutter secured by a plain hex nut. Not even a drop of Loctite in evidence. Is it home-made?I will NEVER buy an Amana Tool product again, and will go out of my way to warn people off of them.

If you're reading this review you probably have a need for a flush-trim bit with a 1/8 shank that will fit a Dremel tool. I needed exactly that and when I searched for it, I was surprised to find that it actually exists. The price is crazy ngl, but I can report that it's a high quality, well-made bit that just happens to be tiny. I used it in my Dremel with the router base attachment (see picture) and was able to cut a slot (using a template that I made) where a standard router never would have worked, because it would have been far too big. The Dremel with the router base attachment fit, but just barely.I'm surprised there are no knock-offs of this on eBay for $5, and maybe there will be eventually. For now this appears to be the only one available. Bottom line: expensive but worth it.EDIT: I have since used this bit (in a Dremel) to trim Formica edges. It's not as fast as a full size router, but works perfectly well, and can fit places a router can't.

So glad I finally found these. These 1/8” shank laminate bits were a lifesaver when refacing my cabinets. The bits allowed me to use the Dremel to get to areas where a full size router wouldn’t fit, such as at the top of the drawer openings under the granite countertops. Obviously not as fast as a regular router, but sure beats trying to use a hand file! Just use the router base attachment that should have come with your Dremel kit, and take your time.
