This is by far the best wheelbarrow soil siever ever developed, and I tried different ones. I cannot wait to get back in stock. I used mine heavily for 8 years, overloading it, and storing it outdoors under the rain. So the handles cracked, while the main part is intact and solid. Priced at $79 it beats every other tool too (8 years back I got mine for $59). I cannot wait for it to go back in stock.

We used this sifter to clean and replace all the rock around our house. Worked like a charm! The handles make it easy to lift, and it fits perfectly in a wheelbarrow. The key is to avoid filling it too full so the screen doesn't get bent. Do small loads. Great product!

I bought this in 2020 while my husband and were trying to remove 1-inch size decorative rocks from a large flowerbed area. Over a 20-year period, rocks had sunk about 5 inches into the dirt. I used a type of hoe with four spikes on the end (tiller) to pull the rocks out to the surface in steps as they were removed. It was a lot of work. We put our sifter over two saw-horses to hold it off the ground. My husband scooped up the rocks and dirt with a shovel and put them into the sifter. Standing at either end, we used the handles to tip the sifter from left to right, and the dirt fell off the rocks to the ground underneath, creating a nice mound of sifted dirt that we were able to spread out later. We could NOT have done this huge project so efficiently without this great sifter!!! It made a world of difference! The sifter held up great! We're now using it for a smaller flowerbed and are using a wheelbarrow instead of saw horses to hold it up.

I planned to use this to sift compost. Nothing too heavy duty. I literally took it out of the box, placed it on my wheelbarrow, put two shovelfuls of compost in it and one of the ears broke off. I didn't have it for 5 minutes before it broke. I examined the way it was made and I see why. The wood that makes up the sides of this sifter are cut into so that it's only about a quarter of an inch of wood that actually supports the ears that lay over the wheelbarrow and support it. No wonder it broke. Save your money and find one better made, or better yet make one yourself.

I love, love, love this tool! I live in the Rocky Mountains - and there's sound reason for this moniker. I am installing a fall asparagus bed (3' x 26') and needed to remove sod roots, rocks & amend the soil to a 12" depth. I was picking the rocks and roots out by hand and it was taking f-o-r-e-v-e-r! I started early summer and I was worried I'd not have the beds ready to transplant in time. The joinery is sound. The wood surfaces are smoothly sanded. The handles are beautifully contoured to facilitate moving-lifting-shaking. It fits perfectly over my wheelbarrow. The hardware cloth captures all rocks over 1/2". And it works pretty well for breaking up peat moss for mixing with topsoil & perlite too. Next year I'll use it again for another two spring beds of approximately the same size, but I won't hesitate to get started because of the onerousness of the chore. The only improvement might be an additional option of 1/4" hardware cloth to break up the peat a bit finer. If this manufacturer doesn't offer one by next spring, I'll likely purchase another one of the 1/2" and just replace the hardware cloth. By the way it cleans up beautifully with a moderate pressure hose nozzle sprayer.

Nicely constructed and useful tool. Works well on my wheelbarrow. Only reservation: Be careful not to put too much heavy material in it at one time--e.g., sifting stones from soil, otherwise mesh is likely to bend or break. Good product.. .

We suddenly became a six-cat household when a friend had to move into assisted living, and our previous method of cleaning the cat boxes had to be streamlined or else the process would take all morning. This sieve on top of a box works very well. Just pour the contents of the cat box into the sieve, and the solid stuff remains on the sieve, while the clean clay particles flow through the opening and into the receiving box and can be recycled into the cat boxes. It really saves on the cost of litter and we don't have to drag as much home from the grocery store each week. The soaked clumps of clay remain on top of the sieve and can be carefully shovelled up and discarded. This wheelbarrow sifter (or sieve) is really well-made. The wire mesh is firmly fixed to the wood, and I expect to be able to sift garden soil with it in the spring.
