This superthin, superlight foil/foam mat will provide cushion and abrasion protection as a footprint for your 1-person tent or sleeping shelter. The foil should reflect some warmth back to you. The 1m x by 2m size weighed 3- 3/8 oz without the blue carrying bag. Although Tyvek is much tougher, it has no 'give' and this is half the weight of even an ultralight Tyvek sheet. Foil is double-sided and thinner than household aluminum foil and more pliable, thus likely tearable, so be gentle with it. The foam layer is between the 2 foil layers. I would guess overall thickness is about 2mm.This item is appropriate for most ultralight backpackers.Edit 8/17/23Used for 12 nights backpacking in NM. Very warm and comfortable but lots of small tears. Foil is less durable than soft Tyvek (ie 1443R). After a total of 15 nights, it was done.
