After about 500 miles in these, they have some great qualities but I am ready to go back to Escalantes. I find these to be a little too snug through the mid-foot. I also was annoyed by a squeaking noise they make. Not horrible but just not my favorite Altras

I’ve used Torins for several years now and these are my favorite yet. The upgraded support and cushion are a bonus. The fit is great, I have wider feet and I fit in the standard width just fine.

If you enjoy zero-drop footwear, Altra running shoes are incredibly comfortable and provide a great fit. This was my first time trying a pair, and while they felt amazing initially, I was very disappointed in their durability. Within just a few weeks, I noticed a hole developing above the toes on my left shoe. Shortly after, the same issue happened with the right shoe. A few weeks later, the heels began falling apart entirely.I only use these shoes for walking—not running—so the wear and tear shouldn’t have been excessive. For a premium running shoe, I expected better longevity, especially compared to other brands like Brooks, which have never let me down.Looking at other reviews online, it seems I’m not alone in this experience. Some users have noted that Altra shoes tend to “blow out” at the forefoot or experience premature tearing in the uppers. Others pointed out that the mesh material used is prone to damage, often after just a few months of use. While Altra’s comfort and zero-drop design are excellent, it’s clear that durability is a recurring issue. If the company could improve on the construction and materials, these shoes would be unbeatable. Until then, I’d recommend them cautiously, especially if you’re looking for something that will last.

I have high arches and suffer from plantar fasciitis. With arch supports these shoes hit the ground in stride better than any I have ever run on.Good, firm heel cup as well. Also did not worry about the road camber from right to left as these are do stable.

The ALTRA Men's Torin 7 Road Running Shoe is hands down one of the best running shoes I’ve ever owned. From comfort to performance, it checks all the boxes for a high-quality road running shoe.Exceptional ComfortThe plush cushioning in the Torin 7 provides unparalleled comfort, even on long-distance runs. The updated midsole with Altra EGO™ MAX foam delivers a soft yet responsive ride that feels light underfoot. Whether running on asphalt or concrete, my feet feel supported and comfortable throughout.Roomy Toe BoxOne of my favorite features is the FootShape™ toe box. It gives my toes plenty of room to splay naturally, reducing discomfort and preventing blisters. This design is perfect for runners who need extra space without compromising the snug fit in the rest of the shoe.Superior Fit and LockdownThe engineered mesh upper is breathable and lightweight, keeping my feet cool even during intense runs. The updated lacing system ensures a secure lockdown without causing pressure points. The heel padding adds extra comfort and stability.Performance and StabilityThe Balanced Cushioning™ platform is a game-changer, promoting proper alignment and reducing impact on my joints. It feels incredibly stable, even on uneven surfaces. The outsole provides excellent grip, giving me confidence to push my pace in all weather conditions.DurabilityAfter putting these shoes through weeks of rigorous training, they still look and feel brand new. The materials are clearly high-quality, and the overall construction feels built to last.VersatilityWhile they shine on long road runs, these shoes are versatile enough for speed workouts and daily wear. They strike the perfect balance between cushioning and responsiveness, making them a great all-around running shoe.Final ThoughtsThe ALTRA Men's Torin 7 Road Running Shoe is a fantastic choice for runners seeking comfort, stability, and performance. It’s especially ideal for those who value a natural running feel with a roomy toe box. Whether you’re a casual jogger or a seasoned marathoner, these shoes will elevate your running experience. A brand and a model of running shoes that fit my feet perfect. A lighter shoe compared with the Altra paradigm 6 which I also use. A bit softer sole again compared with Paradigm, but very comfortable

Been running in Torin 9.5 regulars for several years, several marathons. Last year I wore out two Torin 6s which is unusual for my speed (very slow) and mileage (moderate), but ok fair enough. Eagerly took my Torin 7s out. It's appalling how bad they are.- The upper mesh is just fragile. It has started a small rip after my first light 2 mile run/walk. Really just a test run.- the foot is narrow. I don't have wide feet. This is just crazy - it's not footshape anymore.- the laces are just ridiculously short unless you cinch the shoe painfully tight. (I use the heel lock loops even when road running.)- even given this was the first run, the ride is extremely stiff, felt like running on minimals. I have never owned a pair of Torins like this. Going to switch to some other model. Have a pair of Altra Provision as a backup, I don't love them, but at least they have held up for 50+ miles.
