I like this ligature. Metal ligatures and fit seems to be a gamble unless you get one with a mouthpiece. Like as a set. This Bonade ligature has two rails for holding the reed and it fits well on a J & D Hite Premier alto mouthpiece. It looks well made and works on other mouthpieces as well.It was a good buy.

I've been using these for years. My son started in band this fall and wanted an "upside down" ligature. I got him one and he loves it. These are pretty good, reasonably sturdy and and reasonably priced. You can spend alot more but I'm not sure if any hold the reed alot tighter. I always preferred metal ligatures because they seem to move around less as I retune the instrument.

This Bonade alto sax Ligature is just what I needed. It improves my sound because it holds the reed snuggly in place. My other one was over 25 years old and it was tired. My reeds would slip down at times...Not good when you are playing a concert or solo! My only thing I had to get used to was the turn screws are on the left side and am right handed. My other one they were on the right. It's no problem now. Figured it's good exercise for my left hand! Yes, I know I can use my right hand, but I like a challenge. So there you have it!

I bought this inexpensive ligature for a Morgan Excalibur hard rubber tenor mouthpiece. I had been using a very inferior ligature and simply could not find another one to fit. This mouthpiece is more narrow than most tenor pieces. The Bonade alto ligature works very well.
