Kits include a high flowing dropped base with matching lid and a 1" sure seal spacer with an integrated O-ring for a positive seal on carburetors with a 5-1/8" neck. Kit also includes a pre-oiled washable element. The 1" spacer included in this kit places the bottom of the air cleaner base 5/8" below carb neck sealing flange.

First problem with this product is that the picture is not what you will receive. The lid doesn't have a polished finish as shown. This is raw metal with visible grain. The only shine is from the oil it came coated in. To get anywhere near what is shown you will need to have it professionally polished or powder coated.Second, the design cannot be used with an HEI distributor (most SBC). Even with the 1" riser and the carb sitting up on a high rise manifold the base hits the plug wire boot. You'll need a 2" riser instead. The inside surface of the riser also rubs the lever/rod that operates the choke butterfly on a Holley carb.Unless you are willing to do a lot of modification this product is not for you. A standard drop base with 1/2" riser works just fine.

Just installed the Air Cleaner on my 1958 Chev. I was using a POS Air Cleaner from the 70s and this one looks so much better. I didn't need the 1" extension but was glad to have it included.If I had to complain about something it would be the dimensional drawing on manufacturers website was too general and I had to reason out some sizes. Being a draft persons, I was hoping for more detail.
