I bought two of these to take up label backing paper and printed labels.First, the build quality is pretty solid. Everything is made of metal, so it feels like it'll hold up well. For the one taking up label backing paper, it works well. In particular, that printer (a Brother Thermal Label Printer) has a very small amount of back feed when it gets ready to print, which this takeup machine handles well. When I say a small amount, I meant a few centimeters max.For the one taking up labels, this is less successful. That printer (Epson C6500) needs to back feed the 1-2" before it can start printing, which makes this rewinder useless. This rewinder doesn't allow any back feed once it is on the reel, and the arm that controls the motor doesn't allow for back feed. The other disappointing thing is that this is advertised at 1-8" per second in takeup. This makes it sounds variable to me. I would have imagined that the arm that controls the motor would cause the takeup motor to speed up or slow down based on how much slack it detects. That's not the case. The motor only works at one speed (on or off) and simply turns on/off anytime slack is detected. All this considered, this is very overpriced. I would be happier if it had some ability to back feed and the variable speed motor (or even just one of these two features).

Works great with our label applicator. No more messing with the label backing.

This product does what it's suppose to and nothing fancy. Only improvement I would make is to move the toggle switch to the front near the label roll side. Having the switch on the front intake side facing the printer is just odd. Also the price is a little over the top based on this being nothing but a motor, trigger switch, and some steel shafts mounted to a box. But there isn't much out there economical so the maker can ask whatever they want.
