Restore a lawns smooth appearance after flooding or eliminate frost heaves with this heavyweight lawn roller from Agri-Fab. Users fill the rollers drum with up to 400 pounds of water or sand and hook it up behind a tractor. The tractor tows the roller over lawns and fields, flattening uneven grass or leveling new soil in 36-inch wide swathes. Rolling may also help plant new seeds for uniform growth and eliminate mole holes.
The rollers drum is crafted in a sturdy polyethylene, which resists dents, rust, and weather damage. Powder-baked paint provides further protection. Agri-Fab welded the seams on the drum with rounded edges to prevent any uneven grooves while also providing a leak-proof seal. A brass plug closes the 1-inch filling hole. To remove debris, the roller includes a poly scraper bar. A center baffler provides additional stability to ensure the polyethylene drum does not flex and loose its shape. A hitch pin accompanies the roller to accommodate a trouble-free hook up. The roller is shipped without fill for easy transportation. Users who fill the roller drum with water should drain the drum before winter to ensure the water does not freeze and crack the polyethylene. For user who prefer to fill with sand, Agri-Fab recommends filling the drum only halfway full. To tow the filled roller, a vehicle with a 12 HP engine or greater is required. Towing on hills is highly unadvisable. The roller was manufactured in the USA. A limited one-year warranty may be available for this item. The roller drum spans 36 inches wide with an 18-inch diameter.

First no instruction, I do not think one piece of paper would have broke the bank. 2nd Modifications not show in AD, this one has no scraper bar, it built in now. 3 Modification to side of tank bracket (looks like an improvement. 4 Only 2 large washer not 4 as shown in their assembly video. I would have gave it a 5 Stars for directions and parts list and a note in the box about upgraded parts. Hate going inside to use the computer to get instructions

First, why only 4 stars? One reason - the virtually nonexistent assembly instructions. Not even an identification of bolt lengths. OTOH, it's not hard to figure out. This is one of the larger ones and the construction seems to be sturdier than the smaller ones. Still, time will tell.As for the roller itself, works great for what I need, which is compacting soil after rototilling and york raking 3 acres. Leaves a nice, smooth surface. You need to be realistic. It's not a 1 ton steel roller. It's not going to flatten out mounds in packed soil. It will compact loose soil very nicely.

I got this as a "cosmetic defect" product at substantial savings. Cosmetic defect on a lawn roller?! I never found the cosmetic defect and it works great. Some reviews have complained about assembly. If you look for any excuse to get out your favorite wrenches, you won't have any trouble putting this together. If you like to work puzzles or put together lego type toys, you won't have any trouble putting this together. If you don't have favorite wrenches or like to work puzzles, you can find these at Tractor Supply already assembled for a pretty similar price. Also, I saw complaints about the drain plug. It works like a boat drain plug. You might have to twist it clockwise and tighten the internal screw a little. There is no problem with the plug. My only complaint is that the parts bag had come open and the small parts were scattered all over inside the box. Luckily they were all there. All in all, I am totally satisfied with this lawn roller. Look for one with a cosmetic defect. ;-)

Roller arrived quickly and was easy to assemble AFTER watching on-line assembly video. I live in Arkansas where we're renowned for growing bumper crops of rocks in our yards. I was concerned that the roller might not survive rolling over the sharp edged rocks. I've been using the roller for about a month with no problem at all, it's extremely durable. Highly recommend. When the roller arrived, the scraper bar had a crack in one of the bends. I contacted Agri-Fab and spoke to Cindy. With zero hassle she had a new bar sent out and it arrived in two business days. Thanks to all. Highly recommend the product and the company.

Back in December, a private snowplow skidded on the county road in front of my home and took out a utility pole. Nine trucks later it was replaced but the heavy trucks in the snow left huge ruts in my lawn. I waited for spring, bought some topsoil, filled the holes, and used the 18" X 36" roller to compact them. I then raked the dirt, seeded it, and gave it another pass. Voila!, No more ruts!The roller was relatively easy to put together (do it on the floor, it's much easier to manage), it tows easily, and is a great accessory. It fills easily, hasn't leaked so far, and I'm sure I'll keep it forever. And if you empty out the water it stores pretty easily.I'm not sure how much more use I will get out of this - I suppose I'll fill in other spots over the years - but it did what I needed it to do and it's priced right enough that if you're going to use it a few times it's cheaper than renting. It did the job for me, and if your expectations match the product description it will for you too.

I bought this a while ago and finally got it together. Fairly simple. One beer and about 10 minutes.However, the drainplug needs to be adjusted. I was disappointed as it was so loose. I called Agrifabs customer service line and the very kind lady told me how to adjust it. Very gently grab the disc at the bottom and turn the assembly until the set screw comes out the bottom. I added some pictures of this. It's quite simple. Hope this helps a few of you.Great product! I'm seeding about 2 acres around our new home and it works exactly as it should. Even if I never use it again after this project, it was money very well spent. Very satisfied...

Nice roller, the pulling bracket is made of a heavy gauge tubing that was long enough to make sharp turns. The tongue is constructed of two heavy plates to where one sets on top, one on the bottom of the tubing held together with bolts and lock nuts. Comes with connector pulling pin and hairpin to hold it together. The roller rake that knocks debris off also holds the flattened tubing ends inward onto the metal shaft that protrudes on each side of the roller. There is a plastic bushing between the shaft and the flattened tubing. Poly tank seems fairly heavy gauge. After about a one hour try , I was well pleased so far with the purchase. I went with the agri fab because of it's construction. I preferred the tubing over angle iron arms for strength. Cons, no instructions but the exploded view tells all. I feel there should be plastic inserts for the tubing ends by the tongue to prevent wasp, etc. I used plastic furniture leg / floor protectors. Also, inserting the plastic bushings into the tubing ends was a tight fit. I used a small C clamp and two small pieces of wood. Once the bushing has been forced through the flattened tubing, the clamp can be removed and the bushing finished driven through with the wood. You need these bushings to be tight to stay put. Hope this review will help.
