4" 409 Stainless Steel Construction: This cat-back exhaust system is constructed of 4" mandrel-bent 409 stainless steel tubing for maximum strength and durability. High-Flow 409 Stainless Steel Muffler: This system features a high-flow 409 stainless steel muffler, producing a deep sound. 5" Diameter Polished Intercooled Exhaust Tip: Finishing off this exhaust system is a 5" diameter polished 409 stainless steel intercooled clamp-on exhaust tip. The tip features an aFe POWER logo plate riveted on for a unique style. Installation: Utilizing factory style hangers this system is a direct bolt-on system, which requires no cutting or modifications for a hassle-free installation. Interlock Flex Pipe: This cat-back exhaust system uses a heavy duty flex pipe with an internal interlock liner for added strength and durability. Computer-Aided Design: Utilizing state-of-the-art computer-aided design technology, this exhaust system is designed for custom, high tolerance factory fitment. I ordered this after talking to AFE regarding 2-piece driveshaft trucks. I have a 2018 Silverado crew cab with 6.5 bed, 6.2 engine and 2-piece driveshaft. I was told this would fit directly with no modifications required. This info is wrong and I sent this same info to AFE to make a hanger design change.Picture 1: This shows the front pipe installed as AFE designed it....the hanger installed in the frame mount moves the pipe to the driveshaft.Picture 2: This shows the pipe hitting the crossmember.Picture 3: This shows the hanger with a 90 degree bend in the factory mount.Picture 4: This shows the pipe clears the crossmember after hanger modification....bending and welded in a new location.Picture 5: This shows the 90 degree bend(upper arrow) from Pic 3 now increased to 120 degrees....used a torch to get the hanger hot and moved it the additional 30 degrees. Lower arrow shows new welded hanger position.Picture 6: This shows the hanger moved about 1.5 inches from the original location to make the pipe clear the crossmember. Installed the 120 degree bend hanger in the factory mount and put the pipe where it needed to clear the crossmember and tack welded a couple spots before removing the pipe and running a full weld.After this minor modification(cutting off the hanger with a cut-off wheel, rebend the hanger, re-weld the hanger in the correct location)....about 30 mins...fits perfect and sounds great...big improvement over the stock exhaust. If this was a direct fit out of the box....removing the old system and the installation will take about 30 mins using a lift and two people.
