Even with the STD suffixed bearings, these are overly large. I waited to write this review until after I had broken in my rebuilt engine. When I measured the clearances of the old bearings with 100k miles with Plastigauge, it was still within the spec for the Miata 1.8L BPZ3 engine (0.8 thou to 1.4 thou) at roughly 1.2 though. I installed these bearings and measured again, and I measured 1.6 thou on all of the mains. I also installed ACL race bearings for the connecting rods, and those were above spec as well. While the engine is running fine, there is ever so slightly more noise than stock, and I'm guessing it's due to these bearings. If you are going to advertise a bearing as standard size, it should at least be within spec.
