After 2 years of trying to get a non OEM actuator to work I gave up and just left the actuator wire harness disconnected to stop the clicking noise. It was the actuator behind the glove box so everything still worked fine. I just couldn’t control the damper that controls fresh and recirc air in the car. After doing more research, I ordered the OEM part recently and it worked perfectly fine. Lesson learned!!! When it comes to replacing electronic parts, always purchase the OEM version. It was worth the extra $20.

Just like the original GM installed actuators. In my case the inside/outside (recirculation) door actuator failed. You'll need a 5.5mm socket to remove the screws that hold the actuator in and either a small flex head ratchet or a thumb wheel ratchet depending on the size of your hands. New one went in perfectly after a bit of fiddling to get the wheel lined up and so far no noise out of the new actuator.I'll update if this one fails but I have a lot more confidence in this GM actuator than some of the aftermarket ones that are available. So if you've got a ticking noise in the dash of your Impala, this is the actuator to purchase to replace your failed one.
