About this item

  • Eliminates Dimpling Headers For Added Clearance
  • Improves Spark Plug Access To Fit Socket Or Wrench
  • Shorter Overall Plug Length Vs. OE Style Plug
  • Copper Core Center Electrode
  • Projected Tip

ACCEL's "Shorty" spark plugs keep your spark plug boots from being burned and your headers from being dented if you don't have enough room between your plug boots and your exhaust manifold or headers. Designed for trouble-free installation and removal in cramped spaces, these high-performance plugs are much easier than OE plugs to get a socket on but still deliver a larger, hotter, fuller flash front and significantly more power at high rpm. You'll have instant throttle response and better fuel economy with less fouling, flame dissipation, and misfire. These copper-core plugs provide increased thermal conductivity, come with machine-rolled 14mm threads to protect your heads, use a standard 5/8 socket, and come in a pack of eight.

Deceiving add. $35 is the price for 1 spark plug. Not a set. I was told this was a set in the description. Beware of this seller.

Although I haven't got to test them out yet it was a great value and I'm sure the performance of them will match

whats to say, they're header plugs. make sure to get the correct heat range for your application and you'll be fine. these are the same as ac delco r45s with washers not tapered seats. this is the 8 plug pack.

Had to return these because Amazon said they were compatible with my 1969 Chevy C10 350 cid engine. Unfortunately they are not.BUT, I did source the correct Accel shorty plugs locally and they are great so far. Waaay easier to install when plugs are hard up against Hedman Hedders in a cramped engine bay. Still using plug wire protective sleeves to not melt the wires but with regular length plugs those wouldn't even fit.Great plugs.

---If you are looking for 0437S plugs, you will need the 8197 kit. If you are looking for 0576S plugs, you will need the 8199 kit. As stated in this review, the 8199 kit contains 0576S plugs, not 0437S plugs, as the tile an description of the product states. The boxes clearly state what I am relaying here in this review. Don't go through the hassle of ordering the wrong plugs and then having to return them. Heed my warning and purchase the correct kit the first time around.---I bought the 8197 plugs for my 1968 International Harvester 304cid engine after ordering two sets of the 8199s and returning them. FWIW, the 0437S plugs cross over to Champion RJ12YC and Autolite 85s. The correct Autolite plug for the International SV8 is #85. I know, I know, the books say it is #303, but 90% of the people who have used the 303s can vouch that they are not the right plug and they foul out quickly. From what Autolite says, the 303 is a standard plug and the 85 is the extreme condition plug. I also have had better luck with the 85s, which is what led me to the Accel 0437S plugs. The 0437S plugs have shown to be great so far.---One more thing that makes this misprint a big boo boo, is that the 0576S plug is a 5/8" hex with tapered seal. The 0437S has a 13/16" hex and a tapered crush-washer gasket, which as you know is what must be used when substituting say, Champion's RJ12YC plugs. So again, the 8199 kit contains 0576S, what you don't want for replacing Champion RJ11Y / RJ12Y / RJ12YC, Autolite 85 , NGK BPR5S / XR4 /XR45 / XR5 , Prestolite 14R42 , Motorcraft 14R42 , AC R44S , Bosch WR8F / WR8FC or Old Autolite ARF52B / ARF42B . If replacing these plug numbers, you will want Accel kit #8197, which contains eight 0437S plugs.---Amazon said they were working on finding a solution to the error, but it is not just on Amazon where this screw-up/misprint is found. Hopefully this is the only set where this error can be found and it doesn't effect sales on a great plug.
