I was kind of skeptical about these Hybrid 26 lick and stick vanes at first. But that all soon changed as I fletched up 4 arrows and began to shoot them. I used AAE Max Stealth vanes before these, religiously, I might add. The MS vanes are a bit stiffer and about the same weight as these H26 (MS:8.7gr, H26:8.6gr), about the same length (MS:2.6”, H26:2.7”) and same height at .5”. Both were measured by calibrated Mitutoyo calipers and RCBS Rangemaster 2000 scale. The H26 vanes are a little bit softer and flexible but don’t mistake that as them being any less durable as the MS vanes! They are right on par. These things do improve upon the Max vanes in flight though in my opinion. To begin with, they are so much quieter, again my opinion, in flight than the MS. I am getting slightly tighter groups at longer yardages with the H26 vanes. Possibly due to the more flexible material they’re made out of? Not sure. I’ve shot them in 15-20 mph crosswinds and had minimal drift of about 3-4” compared to the MS: 4.5-5”.The lick and stick is such Godsend! The days of me having to use the MaxWeld primer pen are in the rear view! It comes from the factory with a glue activated primer already applied, best to use AAE Max Bond fletching glue, hence the lick and stick. I can 4 fletch an arrow in about 2 minutes instead of the extra steps it takes for all the Max type vanes. Have not yet have a vane fail due to adhesion. Burying the vanes in a wore out targets is not a problem at all. I shot two beater arrows fletched with H26 and MS through a scrap piece of aluminum sheathing and both held adherence wise to the wrap and had the same vane tearing type damage. This was a long winded review. I’m stoked about these vanes is all so, sorry about that. Just try them. I promise you will notice a difference especially on the application side of things! The group in the pics are from 60 yds. I shoot Easton Axis Match .300 cut to 27.5” with a 50gr Iron Will steel insert, 4” 7.5gr wrap, Iron Will 25gr impact collar and a multitude of 100gr broad heads and field points. Total arrow weight is 519gr. They’re crono’d at 294fps. Shoots out of a Hoyt Helix Turbo 29” draw at 70lbs 80% let off.
