I already have a six-piece set of smaller diving torpedoes. They’re fun, but almost too small. I had one get sucked into my Polaris 360 sweeper. I wanted some that were larger and that’s where these came in.They are not the super huge torpedo I’ve seen before, but they are a good size for small or large hands. They are more of a hard plastic than a flexible rubber material. You would not want to bonk yourself on the head with these. The surface is grippy with dry or wet hands. They glide through the water as expected and their weight will carry them for maybe 15 feet. Here in Texas, we don’t have our summer sun yet but I don’t believe these will be damaged if left out in that sun. (I’ll update my review if that is not the case). Looking forward to using these when pool season starts.

While the description does give the size, I didn't pay attention to that and didn't realize how big these guys were compared to our normal diving toys. Bright colors make them easy to find in the pool. Will be very fun to use this summer!

This is the torpedo I remember using when I was a kid. That's what I was trying to get for my kids but those little ones just don't do the job like these do. They have some good weight to them. When you propel them under water they keep a pretty straight line and dive pretty slowly meaning you can clear a good length of pool.I enjoy throwing these things back and forth across the pool with my 10 and 15 year old. Nice little fun product.

Our larger rockets are always a hit in the pool so it’s nice to have a couple more for the kids to play with. They have a good weight and I’m sure will zip through the water (once the pool isn’t a block of ice). The construction is a little bit rough. On one of them there is a spot from the mold which I might sand down. It’s not going to hurt anyone but is a bit annoying. Overall, a good value for the price.

I bought a similar item a couple of years ago, not really convinced that it would be all that much fun. I was *so* wrong. These are absolutely fantastic, and great for all ages. I bought this set and am equally thrilled. So what's so great about them?1) they are really simple with no moving parts so there's nothing to break2) their simplicity means you don't get sand trapped in crevices to carry around with you for months to come3) their simplicity means even very small kids can use them, and even better than that, they can readily learn how to propel them better. So this is a toy that kids can putz around with and improve their skills in visible ways. This means they have a toy that doesn't lose their attention, and it also ends up being something of a brain teaser, encouraging them to work on mastering their technique over time. It's legit (sort of) educational.4) lightweight and small-ish so easy to tuck into a beach bag5) these are *actually* fun to play with solo or with friends or a parent.6) As a grown adult I legitimately had fun playing with this, so if you're looking for a beach toy that isn't too childish, this is a great bet.7) they are brightly colored, so you can find them in dark water. I use these in lakes where the water isn't crystal clear, but these are a cinch to find.To be clear, these little torpedos *just* spin and shoot through the water, underwater. They can go pretty fast and far if you launch them properly. You can launch them right at the surface of the water or deep underwater. You can play makeshift catch with them, or hide and seek with one or more players. It's just a really, really fun toy, somewhat unexpectedly. I bought this set so that we can keep extras at my parents' lakeside house so we don't have to keep toting these around when we travel--the point there is: it's important that these be available whenever our family is swimming because they're just that great of a toy.

My husband and I don't agree on whether or not these are too big. He feels it is too big for their small hands to be able to grab easily when it is at the bottom of the pool, but I feel because they are bigger, they are easier to spot and grab an edge without too much precision. So we don't agree, but our kids love them and are able to retrieve it well. They are holding up well to be being tossed around and being in mostly salt water pools. It is very easy to wipe dry (no annoying grooves that pool water). So we're very happy with the product and are seeing lots of good use out of them.

These are colorful and slender diving torpedoes. They move through the water very well which is great for anyone who is playing "catch" with someone else in the water. They are a little more slender than most that I've seen. That's a caution perhaps for younger kids who may not be as adept at catching them when they're coming at them through the water. But that's a minor caution. I like that they include a bright pink and a bright green one, and they are very easy to spot in the water. Most kids love being underwater with goggles and otherwise, and these are definitely a fun way to spend time diving below to catch them or playing catch with a friend across the pool.

I don't think these are "Large" like advertised. Not the size of your hand but more of a hand holding size for kids. When you throw these in water they zig zag to the bottom instead of just sinking where you drop it. This is nice because you have to actually look for the torpedo. The colors are very bright, neon, easy to see and identify under water. Has a heavy weight to them.I don't think this suitable for 3 years old as advertised because of the weight. Heavy if dropped on the feet and younger kids like to throw things at each others faces. This would not feel good to get hit with. In fact, getting hit in the nose or mouth could cause some bleeding to happen.
