This worked well even though I wasn’t able to till the patch. All I was able to do this year was cut the grass. Surprisingly it came up pretty well for not being able to properly prepare the site. I’m sure next year will be much better when I can till the soil.

This is three stars because it is mostly oat grass seeds. That is fine, But it is a large see and never gets much of a chance to grow because my girls eat it before it can. So the idea of throw and grow does not work well with out any grass seeds in it. But the Deer do enjoy it as do the birds.

I dropped it down Aug 16th and within a week I noticed it starting to grow. I cleared this area over the year and the only prep I have done is rake up the sticks. Upstate New York at the time of seeding is/was in a slight drought. This gets medium sunlight and shade. Dirt is hard packed with shale stone. Lone behold, the deer come in. Patches where nothing is growing was not cleared when I seeded. I will buy more and cover the whole area.
