These are cheap bits and likely won't last long, but they get the job done for wood! Would recommend using with a drill press rather than a hand-held drill, as this type of bit can be difficult to control.

Spade bits typically don’t last long, especially if you hit a nail, which I do all too frequently. So, I stay away from high-end versions and prefer an economical choice. As long as they aren’t going to last very long, it makes more sense to me to spend the money on more spade bits instead of higher quality ones. Plus, I can be pretty rough on them when I try to go through harder materials than they are designed for. These bits are decent quality, but very economical. So, they fit me perfectly. The bits are sharp and the set contains a good range of sizes. They are on the shorter side for length, but they work for most of my applications. I recommend this economical set of spade bits.

I like spade bits when working with wood and plastic. They give me the ability to drill very deep holes easily, all while clearing cut material in no time. Hole saws can only go so deep and clearing the plug can be difficult. Spade bits are also easy to maneuver and they are ready to go. No fooling around with mandrels, etc.. This set is a good light-duty set. It isn’t going to win any awards for strong steel, but it gets the job done. I like that they have provided a good variety of mid-range sizes. This is a very functional set of spade bits.

Great bits for making larger holes in the wood, such as for cables or small holes. They are quite sharp, so be careful when touching them. They also have a regular hex shank and they fit right in most power tools. I use DeWalt tools and can confirm that they fit without any issues at all. I did a trial run with a 3/4" bit through 5/8" wood plank. It went through like a knife through butter and only took a few seconds.

Machining all looks good, they are nice and heavy. Pull out that little yellow tab on the side, I'm pretty sure it's just there to lock the cover down, then just press in on the tab to open.
