I knew I was ordering a more powerful sump than most, since this one is 1.5 hp. But I didn’t realize how HUGE this thing would be. It must be the biggest sump to ever sump, or something like that.Seriously, it is pretty nice. As usual, for sump testing, I used my pool. The unit comes with a few adapters for different sized hoses, and I had to use a garden hose for this one. So I couldn’t really fully test its claim of 100 gallons per minute. But it really does pump.It has a float valve switch, and if you have ever been in a situation where you needed drainage in a spot that you coulnd’t always monitor, you know the float valve is clutch. It’s a great feature. The 16’ power cord. Might or might not be long enough for you. It is a decent length, and much better than the 3’ cords I have seen on various appliances, but I still had to have an extension cord to get to my pool. If you are using this in a basement or something you will probably also need an extension. Not really a big deal. All in all this is a pretty nice machine, and so far I can’t find anything bad to say about it. Five stars.

This is a beast of a pump. It is not a small unit. And it pumps a massive amount of water. I routinely hook up a pump like this to my swimming pool to spray a Mist at night to cool my pool off here in Arizona. This thing moves a massive amount of water. It can pump water easily from the bottom of a 12 ft pool drain your pool much faster than other pumps I've owned. You will be impressed with this pump , it's made out of plastic so it won't rust. All these pumps have a problem with the StainlesdFasteners and screws that hold them together rerusting so you might want to spray a little grease on the metal hardware if you plan on keeping it submerged for long periods of time. The court is about 16 ft long so that's a bonus because you can keep your cord out of the water and that's the safe thing to do.

This is an absolute beast. It’s great.. we live in Colorado right under a burn scar and frequently in the summer it torrentially rains and as we live on a hill, all the water runs down from the hill, the mountain and our neighbor’s yard! We have A LOT of water to divert out of the yard. We have a big sump pit that fills up very quickly when this happens and it’s vital that it drains out to the street quickly to avoid completely flooding our neighbor’s yard below us. We just popped this into the sump pit that had a fair amount of water on a warm day from snow melt. It got rid of it incredibly fast. I’m excited to have it for the summer. I obviously can’t speak to the longevity of it but honestly as long as it gets us through a summer or two here, I’d easily say it’s worth the cost.

I got this pump to replace a 1/4 HP one I loaned to my daughter to pump water out of her basement during a small flooding episode. I just told her to keep that one and I ordered this one. My use case is for back flushing my 2 tankless water heaters once a year to prevent scale buildup. I did not realize this thing was a beast. The smaller one fit in a 5 gallon bucket with the cleaning solution and just recycled it through the heaters. The water flow was much less than this thing but very appropriate for the task. I dropped this in my pool and it moves a LOT of water. It won't work for my water heater cleaning as it is actually a bit too big and powerful, but I am sure I'll have other uses for it.

Works well but with one grip. I wish there was a way to manually turn it on or off where I didn’t have to rely on the flotation device itself to auto shut it off. There are some water levels where it’ll shut itself off even when I know it can still continue to pump water and it won’t due to how the flotation shut off is designed. Give me a way to manually adjust that myself.

I am very happy with the simplicity of the installation, and the reliability of the sump pump. It has solved a big problem for me and saved me hours of labor.By way of background, when my house was built they didn't allocate enough space for the hot water heater in the crawl space, and ended up jack hammering a hole to put the tank in. Now, when there is a heavy rain, muddy water collects in the hole and puts out the water heater. Crawling around down there to bail out the hole, clean the burner plate and relight the water heater is a real pain. After consulting with a handyman, we decided to try a sump pump. He set up the sump pump by installing a small concrete pad in the bottom of the hole to keep the pump flat, level, and out of the mud. The pump comes with several options for hose size, so we selected the largest one and fed the hose from the pump into a PVC pipe installed in a French drain. Fortunately there was a light switch with an extra outlet right over the water heater, which we were able to use to plug in the pump. So, the set up was fairly straightforward and simple. Now, when water collects in the hole, it buoys the float that activates the pump which works beautifully to pump out the water before it rises to the level of the water heater's burner, and everything continues to work.
