This is the original version of the LED driver that Hatch sells for 12v AC LED lights. It will run from 0 to 60 watts of lights. The newer version of LED driver has an RL prefix. That one will do from 2 to 60 watts of LED lights. These transformers can be expected to work for a couple of years at least. I am using it in Mexico where standard voltage is 127v AC and outdoors but in a waterproof junction box.Dimmers that are trailing edge phase should work with this transformer. I am waiting on a trailing edge phase dimmer to see if it will work. Many dimmers are leading edge (i.e they clip the start of the AC sine wave, and not the end) and those will not work with LEDs as far as I know. There is one dimmer model Martin Jerry US-SD-KN01 that is trailing edge. One customer complained that his Lutron AYCL-153P-WH dimmer did not work with the Hatch transformer. That is because the Lutron AYCL-153P-WH is a leading edge phase dimmer. You can find that out on the Internet easy enough.

I purchased these drivers to replace failed transformers in a customer's fixtures. I wanted ones which would work with either LED or halogen lamps. They also had to be work with existing dimmers. The text said it was a model RS12-60M-LED, but the pictures show a driver with the model number RS12-60M (no "-LED"), and the word "DIMMABLE" on the label. What I got was labeled RS12M-60M-LED without the word "dimmable" on the label. Suspicious of the different label, I set up a test with a new Lutron AYCL-153P-WH (LED compatible) dimmer and a LED MR-16 lamp. It flashed like a 1980's disco dance floor! Useless!Maybe somebody shipped the wrong product model, but maybe they just found a devious way to sell cheap drivers at a high price to unsuspecting customers. Regardless, back they go!Bottom line: This thing is being fraudulently sold as a dimmable driver when it is not.PS -- Checked the Hatch web site. Their data sheet contains the following note: "Please refer to LED product manufacturer data sheets for compatibility with the RS LED products. Hatch does not perform compatibility and/or dimmer compatibility testing with other manufacturers LED lamp products. See lamp manufacturers listings of approval of their products with our drivers." I guess that means they don't what, if any, dimmers or lamps it works with. Evidently not the ones I tried. Your mileage may vary...

I purchased this to replace an existing dimmable LED driver. The product description says "dimmable" but the label on the shipped product doesn't say dimmable anywhere. When I try to dim the lights it rapidly flashes. If I set the ramp rate on the dimmable switch to any duration longer than 0.1 seconds it flashes throughout the transition to on and off and back.

This is the second time I have received transformers whose green labels do not match what is shown in the Amazon descriptions. Both units do not dim my MR16 LED bulbs: The LEDs flash on and off. As a backup this time, I also bought a similar transformer with a white label. This unit did have the correct label when it arrived and it works just fine. For some reason Amazon is allowing China companies to use Hatch Transformer, Inc labels in the descriptions for their cloned units. This is false advertising!!!

This driver/dimmer worked just fine. The stock driver with the lights didn't. This made all the difference.
