It looks to be made of aluminum or some other soft metal. It is best used for wood or maybe soft wood. If you hit a nail then it is no good, it is dull instantly. It is good tool but need to know its limitation.

"Good for carving," Gee, that's profound considering that's in the title. But they are. I got these thinking of using them to clear bark off and weathered wood before I set to carving and discovered, they are a little fine to work on the bark--the teeth are about the size of those on a fine rasp--they'll do it but there are easier ways. What I had not expected was they are good at removing wood for the actual carving itself. There are five disks. Of the two flat disks, one's good for narrow flat surfaces like slots and the other for clearing off larger flat areas. The other three have different curvature for various concave surfaces. I knew what I was getting but it would be nice if not all five disks had the same size teeth. The included wrench actually fits my angle grinder (which another I bought from Amazon did not). The teeth can get clogged but that is to be expected. So far, I am pleased.

This is a good kit for wood carving. The grinding disks remove a lot of material quickly, and the flap disks fit into the irregular live edge faces. But be careful with the chainsaw disks. Most of those have been removed from the market because they are so dangerous. Search for the video by Stumpy Nubs about how he nearly cut off half his hand with one. I threw mine in the trash. So enjoy the grinding disks and toss the chainsaw.
