I was able to buy the complete recoil starter unit on Amazon for cheaper than buying just the starter string at local stores in my area. Easy to install also

Ordered part from one company and after waiting several weeks, received the wrong item from China. Reordered it again from another site, waited again. After it arrived, installed it and a plastic part broke off on the second pull of the handle.

Even though this recoil says it fits 500E B&S mowers it did not couple with the cup on top of the flywheel. I had to purchase and install an $8 cup. After that everything worked perfectly.
