This review is for the 500GB 8MB Cache 5400RPM SATA 6.0Gb/s (7mm) 2.5" Notebook Hard Drive (MD500GLSA854S).4/2025.I had an old model Dell 1525 laptop with a Vista operating system. The laptop was in very good condition but could no longer be updated to Windows 7. As I recall, the machine did not have what was needed for that Win 7 update and that's why the update was never preformed. Anyhow, I took a chance and purchased this hard drive along with 2 new memory sticks having 2gb of memory each. I believe that the parts were cheap because there really isn't much call for them these days of SSD. Having 8gb of memory would have been nice, but I couldn't find such memory sticks for this old of a machine. The computer is only used for running a few amateur radio programs so 4gb of memory is just fine.The computer accepted the new parts and...a new copy of Windows 10 was installed.It has been a couple of weeks since the upgrades and all is still working well...and playing together nicely.If you have an older computer that works well but is no longer supported by Windows, an inexpensive hard drive and inexpensive memory sticks could be the answer. The drive works well and at this time has no issues. It was for me. Hopefully Windows 10 will work for at least a few more years before it bites the bullet.Good luck
