Improved Saddle Fit
No extra pad or blanket is necessary with the 5 Star Contoured Saddle Pad. Double padding creates movement and slippage. This slippage is usually compensated for by over cinching. The contoured fit of our pads means a limited need for cinching with minimal saddle movement. Square cut pads do not follow a horse's back contour. This can result in unnecessary pressure and improper saddle fit which may cause pain and injury to your horse or mule.
Why Use 5 Star Wool?
The unique structure of wool fiber allows it to be pressed together with heat and steam to form a dense mat of FLEXIBLE, RESILIENT and ELASTIC fiber, called felt. Looks like a very good saddle pad nice and thick for my buckaroo wade saddle but was disappointed that it did not come with the cleaning sponge like the description said

This is an excellent saddle pad! This is the second one I have purchased, first one I purchased 5 years ago and still looks like new after a quick scrub and it still has a lot of years left. I purchased a second one for my soon to be 3 year old. I use this pad extensively, doing week long trail rides all over the country 6 months out of the year with weekend rides in between and it’s stood up to the rest of time and wear. My older mare I have been using my first one on has no saddle markings and this pad made the saddle stick! I can keep my cinch so loose it’s not even touching her if I wanted too. The cost is worth it, you won’t be disappointed.

You won't be disappointed. Horse withers are protected, and saddle feels good with it under it. I add a navajo blanket on top, and it's protected forever, and just right amount of protection out on the Nevada cattle Deserts.
