These discs did well at stripping rust off carbon steel. They cut through the oxidation, leaving a clean surface behind. This was my primary use for these disks. They attached easily to my angle grinder and worked well.There is a potential for overheating if you stay in one spot too long

Angle grinders are the best thing since sliced bread and I use them all the time for rust removal, dressing welds, sharpening mower blades, etc.. These Szarint strip discs are good quality and do a good job removing rust on a project of mine. Surface prep, like rust removal, is what I would recommend them for. These types of discs aren't really made for grinding but are great at removing paint, rust and scale. You can gring with them but they won't last long since they aren't really intended for that. Recommended.

..... but that's not saying much - no discs, even the expensive kind, seem to have staying qualities. I use them mainly to strip hot rolled steel down to its silver metal and these work (much) better than flap discs

Not the best performance perhaps. You’ll find better and more durable versions from other brands, but you’ll also pay a lot more. For the price of these, they’re a pretty solid value and u don’t think you can hardly go wrong… at least not as a home owner. If you’re a pro, using these on the job, you might want to look for something else, I’d guess. For me, around the house, for some random tasks, they’re more than suitable for the price. In other words, I can’t compare them to higher end wheels because for my needs, these are just fine.

These discs rapidly remove paint and rust from metal surfaces so it can be painted. I bought them for stripping a camper a-frame and a BBQ smoker. No complaints, they do the job.

When I first bought these, either the detail wasn't in the description or I missed it--I thought these worked natively with the Wagner Paint Eater tool... they don't. They're meant for angle grinders. I believe there's a collet/adapter you can get that will allow you to use these with the Wagner but alas, I don't have that.I don't have an angle grinder but was able to safely lock them into my corded drill with an adapter. They strip paint about like I'd expect. I just had some outdoor chairs I wanted to touch up so used this in place of a wire brush attachment. They were fine and when used with the correct tool that can spin at the right speed, I have no doubt they'll perform as expected.
