I ordered these to use in an art project with young children, so I was really happy that these were really smooth. Not one splinter in the whole group of kids. I did not use these for eating with, but given how smooth they were, I wouldn’t hesitate to do so. They all lay well together–there were no warped spoons. They are sturdy and yet thin and lightweight.

Remember those small paper cups of cheap ice cream they served you as a kid, which came with a wooden stick to use as a spoon? These are basically the adult version of those. They're about twice as long, and they do have a sort-of bowl molded into them. The wood is also a bit thicker and stronger, so they are more useful than you might fear.Even so, their usability is somewhat limited. The bowls aren't remotely deep enough to be useful for soup, and I really don't think they're strong enough for very cold ice cream - if it was a bit soft, and if you were reasonably careful, they might do OK. They'd do fine with pudding or jello, or for serving certain condiments like jimmies, crushed nuts or cherries. Most of what they can do, you could accomplish just as well with standard wooden tongue depressors, which can be purchased considerably more cheaply. So while these aren't useless, I can't really recommend them either, so I'd definitely recommend shopping around.
