The bottom bushing for most skateboard trucks is typically a cylinder shape while the top is a conical shape. This helps keep your board riding smooth. Softer bushings (88A-94A) are used for lighter riders or riders who like loose trucks. Harder bushings (95A-99A) are for riders who want really stiff trucks for a stable ride. This listing includes 4 Medium 96A bushings, enough for 2 trucks.

These things are hard. I weight about 180lbs, and it takes some real pressure to turn. I like tight trucks, so they're good for me. I've only put about 3 hrs of ride time on them, had a little squeaking the first hour or so, but they seem to be 'broken in' now. As far as durability goes, I'll have to wait and see. If you like tight trucks, or are a heavier person, these are great. I'm not a downhill speed racer, but I'd guess these things will keep you straight and not get speed wobble.
