This is a very cool, reasonably priced, handheld gas detector. Very handy to have if you are working around equipment that may be emitting hazardous gases. The meter can check for low levels of oxygen and elevated levels of carbon monoxide (CO), hydrogen sulfide (H2S), and combustible gases (LEL).While I wasn't able to test the H2S or LEL detection, I was able to create an environment that was low in oxygen and high in CO. The detector emitted a loud warning tone, flashed a red LED, and made voice announcements about what was detected. It's definitely a great device to have around if you are connecting gas appliances, working in potentially hazardous environments, or engaging in risky behavior with improperly vented heaters. It could save your life!

This is a great gas detector. I use it since I’m extremely sensitive to CO (carbon monoxide). I carry it with me and keep it on all day. The battery lasts about a day and a half. I wish the battery would last longer. Other than that it’s great. I’m able to clip it to my fanny pack, it’s nice, light and small.

This gas monitor is very nice! It has a nice robust build and the sensors work great. They actually work better than my “name brand” monitor. I really like that it talks to you when one of the alarm thresholds has been passed. This is very convenient when working so I’m not constantly have to look at the LCD screen. The instruction manual is extremely thorough and it comes with a nice metal carrying case. This is perfect for installing or maintaining HVAC equipment, gas lines, water heaters, gas cook tops etc.

This tester has saved me from some sleepless nights. In 2020, I lost my sense of smell to illness. After 18 months I regained most of it, but it's still a bit off. Some things don't smell like they're supposed to. For example, a musty odor in the basement smells like natural gas to me, yet I missed a real natural gas leak at the connection to my house. I needed a tester! I tried a couple of inexpensive units, but I didn't quite trust them. This is the one I can trust! It doesn't feel like a cheap knockoff, looking more similar to the testers I've seen the utility company using. Since I'm not using it everyday, I appreciate that it comes in a cute (but sturdy) little case that stores easily on a shelf. It holds a charge for weeks (maybe months), so it's always ready when I need it. The graphic interface is reminiscent of DOS in the 1980s, and the accented voice is a little hard to understand sometimes, but it seems to work and that's all that matters.

I got this so I could track down any sources of leaks of CO or natural gas if those alarms go off in my house. I didn't have a source of CO I could test on, but it was easily able to pick up gas from my stove. I also don't have a source of H2S (unless you count Taco Bell), so I couldn't test that. The oxygen sensor seemed accurate (was giving off atmospheric readings, I don't have a concentrated O2 source). It's easy to use and seems sensitive, at least the LEL reading. Great to have on hand for logging reading and tracking down leaks.
