These boards are perfect for liquid chalk signs. The texture and color allows the chalk to adhere and be very visible. The size is reasonable, edges aren't sharp.The strings do come separate, so you have to tie them on yourself. Otherwise they are good to go out of the box. I haven't had issues with staining so far, it wipes off clean with a little water.These are exactly what I needed.

I really like the whiteboard side of these, they seem to work well and I don't have any complaints. I am somewhat annoyed with the "chalkboard" side, which is not really chalkboard, but rather it follows a trend these days of cheap chalkboards just being somewhat smooth black plastic material.This wouldn't be quite as annoying if it were at least smooth. However it's got a kind of texture on it that I find a bit unpleasant to write on. Using regular chalk doesn't give very good results either, I tried two types of "low dust" chalk (one being better than the other, but also having bit of a thicker consistency), and the one that wrote more traditionally had very poor results. I suspect chalk markers might look good on these if you wanted to try that.Overall, I'm very pleased with the white board side and somewhat let down by the chalkboard side, so I've split the difference at three stars. I do think the twine to hang them with is nice as well!
