The compound this wheel is made of was perfect for the adhesive tape left behind from body molding removal. Made quick work of the job. Within a half hour had the truck body cleaned up.

I used this to rip off pinstripes down both sides of my car. Hooked to my cordless drill and the strips came right off in no time with the cordless drill! Literally only took about 5 minutes to take the striping off both sides of my car; I couldn't believe how easy it was. I also used it to remove some adhesive that remained when I took off a rock guard on a door. even after both of those activities, it used very little of my wheel and will probably find other great uses for this in the future!Wear a mask, it does throw off fine pieces of rubber and debris that you could easily breathe in.It is about 4x as expensive as the generic ones when I got this, and I have never tried them, but I was happy to pay the price to have this work so well and without any damage to my car!

Le produit est de bonne qualité mais malheureusement celui-ci ne fonctionne pas du tout pour enlever des bandes adhésives 3M qui sont bien collées et qui ont durée dans le temps.Par exemple, j'ai collé des bandes adhésives 3M sur des lames (bas de caisse) et celles-ci ont durée dans le temps. En essayant la meule, celle-ci enlève que dalle.

The wheel worked good only AFTER I SPENT 30 MINUTES making it round/concentric to the arbor. Quality control is disappointing. I paid a premium for the 3M product with expectations of quality. The wheel was 3/16" different from high to low spot. It could not be used out of package as it would shake your tool violently. I expect better when I purchase 3M products. For the price of this product, the factory should spin it in house and grind off the high spots so I can use it when I open the package.

Bought a used RAM 1500, and the previous owner had installed some tacky looking vent visors. I removed the visors fairly easy, but they left behind some horrid adhesive mounting tape that was REALLY stuck on, solvents were useless.So I bought this 3M eraser wheel and just used it to remove all that sticky, gooey tape residue. The 3M wheel worked great. I got everything off pretty quickly, then used some solvent to clean, and then went to local car wash because my truck was covered in bits of debris.The 3M wheel worked as advertised, it strips that residue off with no problem and did not do any damage to any surfaces. MY ONLY gripe is that the drive-mounting hole was not centered perfectly in the wheel. The instructions say to use a rasp file and spin the wheel against a file to true it up, but honestly, the wheel is rather expensive and I would have thought they'd have a manufacturing method to get that hole centered perfectly in the first place. I never was able to get the wheel perfectly trued, but it still did the job.

Purchased to remove vinyl stripes on my Ford. Worked well. Take care on any plastic bumpers - it did take paint off for me but was due to my technique. No problems on the metal panels.

I cannot stress how effective and timesaving this 3m stripe off wheel is. Finally a tool that lives up to the description. It has removed the red vinyl reflective tape from round the rear doors of a transit van, then yellow on one side x2 lines and silver on bonnet and upper roof panel in a couple of hours using a cordless drill, started with slowest speed and just increased till it was working efficiently. No glue residue left behind just clean paintwork. Day 2 showed it will also work on Diamond Grade ECE 104 Reflective Tape and similar honeycomb reflective tape. Mine was double layered so the glue residue left behind after 3m wheel use needed softening with tar remover, the thick removed with a plastic scraper, then wiped over with a microfibre cloth and tar remover. Van is now back to stock and just needs a wash and polish. This 3m wheel is worth the cost, and it still has life in it for another job and another day.

Pros: After spending an hour trying to manually peel off a 7yr old hood decal that previous owner purchased new with the vehicle, I decided to give this a try. I was hesitant due to the price thinking I'm wasting my money, however, I am pleased to report that this thing does exactly what it says it will. The rubber wheel grabs hold of the decal and rolls it off in little pieces leaving little to no residue and with no damage to the clear coat or finish. If you're doing small decals or pin stripes or things with small surface area, it will not take you long at all to remove them with this. If you are doing hood decals or something that covers a large area, it does still take a little bit of time though because you gotta hit every spot of the decal with the wheel (just like an eraser). However, it's much easier than peeling by hand or using a plastic knife.Cons: 1) Price. It's a bit expensive for a small rubber wheel. 2) The mount. The wheel attaches via a plastic threaded insert with no nut or washer backing and it does spin itself off the drill easily when you pause. Even just the weight of the wheel itself will spin itself off when the drill stops. It doesn't hurt anything though except your patience chasing the wheel across the driveway multiple times until you figure out how to stop the drill just right.Would have given 5 stars if not for the price.
