Got these to feel a little more comfortable going out into the streets and paths to practice rollerskating and I'm a huge fan!They do look and feel a little silly underneath your clothes but I've just started wearing baggier clothing so you can't see the padding. I've fallen a couple times with them on and they definitely help to lessen the hit. Falls that would've bruised me real good are now just sore spots on a hip or buttock.I ordered a size 27 for a women's size Large and it fits well! Maybe a tiny bit too loose but for my purposes that doesn't really matter.

I ordered these 3D Protection Hip Butt EVA Padded Shorts, Crash Pad Impact Gear for Ski, Skating, Snowboarding, Skateboarding for Men Women (25) for my husband.The good: These provide thick padding on every spot where he may fall. And he has fallen! Wearing these, he has not been injured! He's a middle aged man who took up skateboarding again after decades and at first he didn't want any protective equipment. Several injuries later and now he goes out gladly wearing these. The padding is thick, not too heavy, and has enough give that when he falls they protect without hurting him (like, they don't poke or press into him too much). These shorts have raised the bar in what we expect from a protective short now.The bad: Our shorts arrived with a flaw--the waistband is actually torn at its seam. I thought long and hard about how to include this in my summary of the shorts, and I'm taking 1/2 star off for this. I see how it could be a simple manufacturing flaw. The shorts are otherwise so excellent though that I didn't want to take off more.Overall these are exceptional protective shorts and I highly recommend them. I've rated them 4.5 stars and for the purpose of this review have rounded up to 5.
