Purpose for Product: Providing a secure connection between the 1/2-inch bolt head and the flat washer to diminish loosening.Product Inspection: Heavy plastic bag with content identification. Industry standard quality assurance logos and metal quality are clearly visible. These split lock washers are heavy and sturdily manufactured. Uniform sizing and coating are evident. Edges are smooth. Washers are magnetic with a black oxide coatingProduct Performance: Washers are tough to compress and maintain their spring when released. Coating will scratch but should provide some level of protection. Placed one in a vise, gave it 9 90-degree bends until it broke, it wasn't easy, tough little washer.Summary: Makers manufacture some really good items, and these washers live up to the name and will provide satisfactorily function. Coating is just OK but better than most. Maybe just me but thinking the price point could be a little lower for a better shopping experience.

This is a good brand for fasteners, and I've used them a number of times before. They came in a very thick plastic bag, and there were no escapees. The quality of the washer is good, and didn't note any issue with the coating. They're split washers, so you can't really go on too much about them. I'd just say that this brand has been a reliable one for me, and I'd get these again over an off brand where you may save a buck or two, but the quality could be lacking. Get these.

These work well as lock washers. The ceramic coating came off a bit on on a particularly challenging bolt, but other than that, they worked just fine.

I needed less than a dozen of these for some 6mm bolts but anticipate using more in the future on 1/4" bolts so it's nice they're close enough to be interchangeable. My first thought was they seemed a little thin, but it's sufficient for the kind of torque applies to bolts this small. Nowhere does it say what type of steel they're made from, but they are magnetic so you can eliminate stainless from the running. The coating appears to be well applied and survived a couple reinstallations so I have no reason to think they won't hold up to outdoor use. I just wish they were packaged in a resealable bag like so many other small part items.
