Alternator

By connecting the induced electromotive force generated by the movement of a conductor in a magnetic field into a circuit, alternating current energy can be generated.
Matters Needing Attention
- The Working Voltage of the Alternator is not a fixed value, If in the case of the car battery power is sufficient, the car electrical appliances do not work, the generator almost does not work, the voltage will be Maintained at About 11-12V.
- If the car battery power loss is serious, for example, the vehicle electrical appliances are all turned on, the generator's working voltage rises the most, Maintaining at About 14V.
Installation steps
- First, disconnect the battery cables. Locate the alternator on the vehicle. Use the serpentine belt tool to loosen the belt, followed by removing it from the alternator pulley. Put the bolts supporting the alternator back in place; the number of bolts should be at least 2 and no more than 4, depending on the make and model. Use a socket and ratchet to loosen and remove the bolts. Remove the alternator, then unplug and remove all nuts connecting the electrical components.
- Reverse the process to install the new alternator. Connect the electrical plugs and wires on the new alternator. Once the alternator is slid into place, start bolting the old one in the correct position. Put the alternator pulley back in place and secure it.
- Be sure to check that the pulley is aligned with the belt tensioner. Use the serpentine belt tool to control the desired tension and slide the belt back over the pulley, then the tool can be released by the tension of the belt. Reconnect the battery cables.
- Alternator fault light is not extinguished, the main reason is probably two points, one is the alternator product itself is defective, the second is the car wiring harness aging, and the alternator link is not stable, resulting in the car computer can not detect the alternator voltage, in this case even if the alternator is working properly to generate electricity, the fault code will not be eliminated!
- Note：After installation, if you find that the battery malfunction light is on and off, and the voltage is found to be unstable, please replace the fuse related to the generator, as the aging of the fuse will lead to unstable generator power output
