This was just what I was looking for. Can be cut down to length needed. I have a naughty kitty that absolutely insists on spraying the walls in one room of our house (thankfully a room we don't really use). I keep the walls and floor near the bottom lined with pee pads, but absolutely do not want anything soaking into the carpet any kind of way. So I used these to lay at the bottom of those walls, under the pee pads, just in case anything gets through. They are good quality and were easy to lay down. Of course it came rolled up, so once I laid it flat, I had to put some weight on it for a little while to flatten it out. Happy with this.

Describing this as a "cat carpet protector" isn't the best item description in my opinion.It's narrow, and you'll need a lot of luck if your cat stays on the mat, and off the carpet running nearby (along both sides of the mat).I actually see this item to be more helpful for HUMANS to walk on, and keep dirt and mud off the carpet.That said, it is of good quality material.It's also very easy to cut with scissors if you need smaller pieces to place side-by-side, or in different locationsCAUTION: Be sure to place it in the sun with something heavy sitting on it to help flatten it out before use. If you roll this out and immediately place it on the floor, someone to trip over it and potentially hurt themselves.

This carpet protector is made of thick, clear plastic that seems resistant and durable. The material is also easy to clean. I got this to use behind my couch along the wall because cats like to go back there to potty. My mom used to use these plastic spiked carpet runners for this purpose and they worked. So I wanted to give it a try.It was hard to unroll so I used bricks to weight it down for a few hours until it would stay open. Once it was nice and flat I turned it over and placed it behind my couch. The cats have not once went back there since.The spikes are rather sharp and would hurt to step on. While I had it unrolled waiting for it to flatten, the spikes stuck well into the carpet and the rug didn't shift. It's a really great product for protecting your carpet whichever side you use. The plastic is thick and durable. It would be easy to wash and keep clean as well. I'm happy with it because it keeps my cats out of places I don't want them to be. The price is reasonable and it will save your carpet in the long run.

This does have a very strong odor when you open it. This is a hard plastic/rubber feeling carpet protector. There are spikes on the bottom so it will stay in place. I have several cats and when I separate them and have to close a door, they start scratching at my carpet and tearing it up. I cut off a piece and had to roll it in the opposite direction to get it to stay flat. But it is doing what it’s supposed to do, and that is protecting my rug. This comes with enough on the roll to do several areas. Aside from the rubber smell, I am happy with this floor protector. I hope the smell goes away because this is by the bedroom doors and it’s not pleasant to be smelling while trying to sleep.

The carpet protector is slightly smaller than the advertised size of 35x200 cm, measuring 34.6 cm wide (13.6 inches) and 218.4 cm long (86 inches). While it is a bit too narrow to function as a full runner, it can easily be cut to fit your needs for a doorway or stairs. The protector comes rolled up, so you'll need to flatten it before use. Due to the slightly thick plastic material, this may take some time. To speed up the process, you can use a heat gun to soften the protector and allow it to lay flat as it cools. Be cautious not to melt the plastic. Additionally, the underside features small spikes to help keep it in place when laid on medium to thick pile carpet.Overall, it's a decent roll of carpet protector. It is thick and a bit hard to manipulate and flatten, but once cut and laid out, it does a good job protecting the surface it’s installed on. However, it would be better if it were slightly wider, making it more suitable for use as a runner in a hallway or doorway entrance.

I purchased this roll of plastic carpet protector to create a waterproof/dirtproof liner for the cargo area of my Suburban, as I frequently haul plants, bags of soil and amendments, and other dirty items, and I did not want my carpet or the rug to get ruined or stained.The pointy spikes on the underside of this mat grip into the carpet well and although it is thick and comes rolled up, the plastic flattens out after a day or two with heavy weight on it. Clear tape will keep the sections together and will perfectly protect my Suburban carpet for a very affordable DIY project.The 20' long roll also provides plenty of material for my purposes.Fantastic value!
