I own a handyman business with a big focus on carpentry, so I use a lot of sandpaper. I've been using the Milwaukee M12 detail sander for about 6 months and have come to really appreciate this special purpose sander. A downside of this sander has been the limited options for sandpaper cut to fit the unique shape of that sander. Milwaukee markets only a sanding net product, which is good, but quite expensive for what it is. When it became available I purchased a competing paper sanding product sized for the M12 detail sander and was fairly disappointed. The aftermarket sandpaper was far less expensive, but was disappointingly short lived. This Fowok paper fits the M12 detail sander perfectly and splits the difference in terms of both price and quality compared to the two options mentioned above. I just finished repairing rot on 6 window sills and used a single sheet of this paper to effect these repairs and that single sheet is still in usable shape. I find this paper hits a useful middle ground in terms of both cost and quality.

This sandpaper fits the M12 detail sander great, but it's not a great sandpaper. The backing is very stiff and curled, and the paper doesn't conform to shapes. I appreciate the included interface pads, but the paper is too stiff for contour sanding. The set includes 20 pieces each of 60, 120, 180, and 240 Grit paper. The jump from 60 to 120 is too large. 60 grit is far too course for detail sanding, and leaves deep scratches that would take forever to remove with 120 grit. I think it would make more sense to start at 80 or 100 grit.

I'll lead off with the cons:It's mid-grade paper at best. Nowhere near as good as PS33 or 3M 775L.Even good paper, much less this, is nowhere near as effective as mesh sheets. There's no 80 or 100 grit. You can't jump from 60 to 120 and expect to get all the 60 grit scratches out with a reasonable amount of effort. (BTW, this is what tipped my review from 4 stars to 3. I was on the fence). Now the pros, or at least why the cons don't really matter.#1 pro - it's available, cut to size. None of the good paper is, and even in mesh the only pre-cut sheets are Milwaukee's own 2nd tier mesh at inflated prices.#2, sometimes paper is better than mesh. While it doesn't cut nearly as fast, clogs up more easily, and can't be cleaned as easily as mesh, it's far more durable around the edges.Mesh sheets will fray and quickly disintegrate if they encounter splinters or sharp edges. If mesh is so much more effective, why use paper?Because the effectiveness doesn't matter nearly as much in a detail sander as it does sanding a large area with a 6" DA. That's when 30-50% faster cutting and longer life adds up to real time savings.Because paper is much cheaper. And because paper doesn't fray (see #2 above).Even with the big DA, when sanding an old finish I'll make the first pass with (inexpensive) paper, to remove & possibly clog up with grime and impurities on the surface, then discard that paper. Finally, the foam interface pads are handy, and when used with paper (not mesh) make the M12 detail sander much better for sanding profiles and edges.Unfortunately, this paper isn't particularly well suited to profile sanding as it has a heavy stiff paper backing. A more flexible paper would work better with the interface pad.So yeah, okay, not great. If they included 80 or 100 grit paper, and used more flexible paper it would be a much better product.

I got this heavy duty sandpaper for the Milwaukee M12 detail sander because I haven’t been able to find mesh abrasives that come in 60 and 240 grit. The fit of these is spot on with the tool’s pad and there’s no slop. The hook and loop material is decent as well. Compared to buying mesh sanding pads/screens and for what is included in this package (2 soft pads and 20 sheets each of 60, 120, 180, and 240 grit), the set is a good value. That is, a good value as long as you’re planning to sand flat surfaces. The two included soft pads, which are used for sanding contours work fine; however, in my opinion this sandpaper is too stiff for use on sharp contours. Just for comparison, an 80 grit mesh sanding sheet is more flexible than the 240 grit paper in this set. The 60 grit paper is very stiff, but that’s to be expected.Having used this sandpaper for a few hours, I’d say it performs as well as the mesh. Unfortunately, it doesn’t last as long. Part of that is because the M12 sander doesn’t have dust extraction holes so heat generated by friction wears the abrasives on the paper faster. Even at its worst, mesh abrasives can be vacuumed, washed, and reused. Having said that, I found the key to getting more life out of these paper sheets is to keep the tool moving. Overall, I’d say these are still worth having.

Full disclosure, I received this item as part of Amazon's Vine Program in exchange for an honest review, good or bad. This sandpaper works great with my Milwaukee M12 Detail Sander. The fit is perfect and the sandpaper last a long time. It doesn't clog very fast either, not even with Bondo as long as the Bondo has actually cured. I really love the foam pads. They let you sand right over small details without having to hand sand them. It is a real time saver. My only complaint is it goes from 60 to 120. Most woodworker know you cant skip more than one grit, and with that jump, you just skipped 80 and 100. I would rather have 60, 100, 150, 220 with 80, 120, 180, 240 being my second choice of grits.

I liked the flexible pad attachements for sanding contours as well as flat surfaces. The set came with a spare pad for a total of two. Nice assortment of various grades of paper. paper sticks well to the pad and peels off easy.Notice in the photo that the pads and paper compared to the original are oversized but that just allows for more flexibility. Would buy again.
