I have played the recorders all my life and I know plastic from wood. This is plastic, light weight. It is advertised as material to be "Maple". With color Braun. Color is correct. Material unless I am missing something is not Maple wood. For over $160.00 the tone is inferior and the middle C is inconsistent, producing sometimes a nice tone but with quicker fingering, it is hard for my young student to cover (and I had trouble too). I will be returning it.
