This is a nicely constructed generator power inlet. There is a built in LED power indicator on the cover. The box is fairly heavy metal, and the front is thick tough plastic. Maximum 10 gauge wire is stated in the instructions. This should work well, and last for many years.

...............This is a well made product. Before I go any further to be clear on terminology, the connection "device" in this enclosure is a "male plug" (it has "prongs") as opposed to a "female receptacle" which the "prongs' go into. In other words this enclosure accepts a "female" receptacle. Having clarified that, the enclosure is bigger than other brands so terminating wires and closing the cover is easy. The plug will accept wire up to #10 solid or stranded which is good for 30 amps and matches the rating of the plug. This type of front access enclosure utilizes a threaded collar around the plug to achieve a "rain tight" connection. A rubber "boot accessory" with a plastic locking "ring accessory" will be needed to go over the receptacle in order to be "rain tight". However the "plug" is recessed enough and the plastic "flap" cover is wide enough to keep water out of the connection by itself in my opinion. To insert the "receptacle" into the "plug" line up the "grounding (green) prong" in the plug with the same grounding slot in the receptacle. Insert the "receptacle" onto the "plug" and twist to the right to "lock" it. Twist to the left to "unlock" and pull out. Unlike most enclosures of this type the "knock outs" are already out. They use a unique type of "KO" seal that looks finished on the outside with a rubber gasket and 3/4" lock nut on the inside. You pick which one you want to use and take it out which gives you a "spare". Why they give you a "spare KO" in the plastic bag is beyond me but you will end with 2 "spare" KO seals. All the KO's are the same size 3/4". Inside the box there is a convenient (green) "ground" termination "lug" for connecting the "green or bare" grounding wire from the panel. In closing I like this generator "inlet" enclosure for its size, solid construction, recessed "plug", large "flap" cover and easily removable KO seals not to mention very reasonable price compared to other manufacturers.

The outlet box is larger than I was expecting. We had another one that was damaged during some renovation. This one is larger, heavier and seems be much better made. The top flips open almost 180 and has a very secure close. I'm very impressed and would definitely recommend.

This is a 30 Amp Generator Power Inlet Box, NEMA L14-30P. I ordered two different brands of these boxes. One for my well house and one for my garage. Figured I would review each of them and see what I thought. Turns out they are exactly the same, just a different name on the box.The case on this is made of metal and the surround around the plug and the hinged cover is made from heavy duty plastic. The plug has a gasket to seal the rain out and the lid clicks shut so it cannot be blown open. The plug itself is very solid and made from quality parts, inside and out. Check out the pictures I have uploaded. It does have a green power indicator light on the lid. Once it was wired up I flipped the breaker and the green light came on. It is a good indicator power and safety feature. Both sides of the box, the bottom and the back have knockouts for your cable connections. The plastic plugs that cover the holes also have gaskets. It also comes with a spare plug as well as a grommet for wiring options. I wired mine through the wall, coming into the back of the box so I used the grommet in my installation.I have no complaints about this product. The installation was easy and everything was made from quality components. JohnnyF
