I was expecting 2 pounds of aloe Vera melt n pour. This soap did not weigh 2 pounds, not worth the price if it is not its weight in soap. Especially is your using to make soaps, can't measure it out properly because there is not enough.

I have been making soap for years, many years with melt and pour (that's what this is) and a few years with cold process soap. What sets bases out are their ingredients. Here's what's wrong with this base--As I said, I pay a lot of attention to ingredients. The listing has aloe soap in the list of ingredients, however, the ingredients list on the soap makes no mention of it. What it does have, however, is aa fragrance. Fragrance is not mentioned in the website or the soap package, but it's definitely got an artificial "green" scent, one that is similar to aloe or bamboo fragranced candles. Using a fake aloe fragrance does not make it an aloe soap.This is an automatic deal breaker for me. On the occasion when I make melt and pour soap now, I use quality unscented bases and quality fragrance oils. I don't want to use a soap base that I make keep or use to make gifts where I can't trust the ingredients. And I don't want pre-scented soap.I gave this 2 stars instead of a 1 because if you just want to give M&P soap a try and don't want to invest in fragrance oils which can be quite costly, you may be happy with this. It's just not for me.

I really like this aloe soap base. It has score lines for easy cutting and it’s very soft and gentle on the skin. It takes color pigment and sent very well.

This soap base is nice, and comes lightly scented, it melts and pours easily and is great for people just learning to make soap, or want a fun gift idea. But, it claims it to be aloe based, yet there's no aloe listed in the ingredients list. One would think an aloe based soap would at least list aloe in the ingredients....but....nope. Otherwise, it feels nice on the skin when washing with it, and there doesn't seem to be anything harmful in the ingredients, just simple, bare basic soap ingredients, so I feel it's safe.

I am new to soap making. The soap base is very easy to cut and use. I love that it has pre cut slices-- you can easily judge how much you actually need and they break right off.The base melts very nicely and stays very smooth. When adding essential oil-- the oil blends very nicely. I did not have any issues with pouring the melt into the molds. The popped right out when fully cooled. The soap mixes with water nicely and feels great on the skin.I am very pleased-- and I love the fact that as a beginner soap maker-- it worked the first time without any issues!
