Very easy to install and looks great. I liked that I could screw the screen on first then snap the cover on. I had to cut a new panel to place the vent on because the opening was two large. It worked out! I even thought about placing it on a hinge making it a gable access point, but for today, it is replacing the broken gable vent that was letting pigeons in. So far so good!

Husband said it took longer to install than he anticipated. He’s not thrilled that it doesn’t fit flush.

I needed this for our church parsonage to replace an aluminum one. The aluminum one measured 24x30, but it wasn't until this plastic one came did I find out the aluminum frame was a little taller and wider at the mounting points. As such I had to add some wood spacers and reuse and modify the existing aluminum frame to fill in the gaps. The louver section of the plastic vent is supposed to "snap" into place at the corners. But you cannot see them to properly line them up, so that takes a bit of trial and error to get all four snapped in place. I added two long screws in each long side for added security to make sure the louver section didn't slip out. But it still looks good, functions great, and good quality.

Maybe it's just the way the houses were built, but I had to add extra wood behind these before installation.
