These mitten clips were to be used as cinchers. The claws did not grab any slippery or thin fabrics. Might be great holding a pair of mittens, but do not trust these on your finer fabrics.

I sent these back because they didn't have any matching ones. And they were to short. My 6year old couldn't get her hand in her gloves with them clipped on to her coat.

I was so happy to find this! These are perfect for clipping kids' accessories to their clothing so that they don't get lost. I remember having them as a little kid and they are so hard to find. The colors are appealing and fun for kids, and the clips work securely. They have a little stretch, but not a lot. Also handy for clipping other things, like toys onto strollers, etc.

I ordered this set of mitten clips because this type of clip is very handy for a multitude of uses. The main use I ordered them for is to clip the edge my dogs soft bed to the cover on the couch where she likes to sleep so it doesn't fall off every time she gets down. It has worked great for that. The clips are nicely rounded with no rough spots so they don't scratch her or snag the couch cover. They grip very tightly. I like that the clips are a little larger than other "mitten" clips I have used. I also like the fun colors and designs that are included. There is a color to match almost anything you could imagine. I am pleased with them and am sure I will find many more uses for them.
