I'm a hand filer when it comes to chainsaws just because it's quick and I can do it on the tailgate of the truck. I do go through a lot of chains (and Band-Aids) just because of the slop a hand file tends to create. This is a neat little portable sharpener that can replace a hand file completely. The jig looks a bit complicated, and the instructions are... ok. There is one part that misleads you to think the Paw1 (silver flap on top) goes behind the tooth and pushes forward. It actually goes above the tooth and pushes down. Once you've got the jig set, it's very easy to use and is faster than a file, even in a vice. The jig locks onto the bar and allows the chain to slide forward. It also allows you to sharpen both sides of the chain from this locked position. It also knocks down the dog as it's sharpening the tooth. Highly Recommended!
