The rubber caps fit small to medium stems. Larger stems are difficult to fit through the rubber cap. I ended up cutting a slit to make it large enough for hydrangea stems.The cap must be removed to fill with water.

They were just the right size. I actually used these to hold decorative items glued to dowels inside mason jars.

Size was too small and that was my fault for not reading dimensions more closely and pictures were misleading and in general, cheaply made and it shows. However, it did seem to work for my intended purpose.
