Alright so this is my review five minutes into unpacking. I’m a chief engineer at two hotels, and my master key is very important to keep safe and literally attached to my hip. From just the feel of the material I can say the card holder itself will definitely hold up. The retracting clip also feels very durable. It expands and contracts exactly as it should. The holder perfectly fits a hotel key card and an ID. you can visibly see what’s in the holder. Functions exactly as it should.

Just what we ordered. Easy to get card/id in and out. The retractable pieces are nice and very easy to use. Great item for the price. Nice hard case

For those of us who need to remove their ID frequently (ie, a smart card), this is not for you. The clip mechanism seals the card in and you need to completely remove it to get the card out.Otherwise seems fine.

I'm going to review both parts of these, but long story short, they are both great.First, the ID holder. These are super high quality. Our work gives us cheap vinyl holders and cheap plastic retractors. I go thru two to three retractors a year. I don't know if that is the right term, but that is what I am calling them. The vinyl holders rip and allow water in the top. I was able to get a nice plastic holder in Mexico City of all places, and wanted a back up. So I bought these black ones and they are even nicer.In many years, I have not been able to find a good quality "retractor". These ones seem to be just one step below a professional janitor key ring retractor. They also have a longer cord than the cheap ones the company gives us.I did have a little trouble figuring out how to open the ID holder, but that is a good thing. It means it won't come open accidentally. The only thing I haven't tested is how well the electronic reader at the office will work thru the plastic, because I am on vacation. I don't think it will be an issue.
