Great for when using temporary generator so as not to overload one leg and not much use on the other leg

Great price, I bought 2 pack as you need one for each of the hot legs on the 240v circuit. Donut Leads were a bit short so I extended them into the panel. You will need to run a hot an nuteral to 120v to power each screen. I just added 2 x single pole 15 amp breakers which give me the voltage on both sides of the panel. Tested the wattage measurements on my pool pump circuit and they read accurately. I used a 8"x8" PVC electrical box recessed it into the wall, but any plastic box will work as the screens a small. One donut around each hot legs on the generator circuit and I was good to go for the next storm or power outage. Allows for me to see how many watts my generator is delivering to prevent overload. Total project took about 1.5 hours as I am comfortable around electricity and had most of the material.

For my off the grid system this has been very handy to determine problems or to make sure my load is balanced.

Bought these because the chintzy analog watt meters on my generator transfer switch don't, and never have worked...and this provides much better info for load balancing AND for generator troubleshooting if needed.Rather than add a THIRD box for these, I simply built a new generator inlet box (8" x 8") with these power meters integrated into the face plate. Wiring was dirt simple - the power connection points on the meters use up to 12 AWG THHN. Overkill, I know, but I had some laying around! The CTs are well-insulated, so there's no "spillage" between the left and right legs.Tip: WAGO wire connectors REALLY make life easy! Why only FOUR stars? Will, I only tested it under load for about 10 minutes under controlled conditions. I'll update if needed when I have to use this thing under actual conditions.

So I run a small machining business in my garage. I have a large CNC machine, 20HP phase convertor, air compressors, 8000 w heater, air conditioner. I installed these on both legs of my 100a panel so I can monitor the current draw and try to balance the load etc. they work really well so far. You can also use them to figure out the draw of a particular item in the house by just looking at the before and after values when you power it up. Very handy.

I like this power monitor mainly for the price. I was going to get one on Amazon that costs $165 but looking through the reviews of that one, I notice people were saying that the unit would not work unless attached to the cloud, meaning your data transferring over the internet! Because of that I purchased this one. You will only be able to monitor 1 to 2 power legs with this unit but that's enough to figure out how much power each breaker is drawing. Getting the unit reset was not easy, even after reading through the other reviews. Here is the KEY to resetting it. When you hold the button down to reset the unit, continue holding the button down until the unit displays the power reset message. The first message is NOT the power reset. Continue holding the button! Then once you release the button press again and the data is cleared.

I used this for a small apartment’s panel still fed from a 30 amp 240 V main. Commenters had said the CT wires were short and would need to solder additional lengths. That was true even though I put them right above the panel. You’re on your own as far as what you use to mount the meters into. I used stiff plastic with little windows cut out, then covered it with a pretty wrapper. It works well. You can set an alarm setpoint on each meter where it will flash rapidly. I set 25A and saw it once with coffee maker and microwave running on the same circuit. Just like in an RV, you can run anything but just not all at the same time. This is my second set ordered for a different (100 amp) panel.
