Awesome training tool. Used it to stimulate a taller defense trying to block my shots. Super easy to assemble.

They are OK quality kind of expensive for what they are very lightweight aluminum handles that bend on harder contact at the assembly point.

I got these as I teach my daughter martial arts. These sticks are great for teaching blocks and counters. They are long and soft enough to be practical tools that allow more blocking without getting sore.If you are looking for a helpful training add outside of kick targets, these blocking guards/sticks are fantastic.

We are a family of black belts and always looking for things to add to the dojang. These are not as light as your typical Styrofoam versions with a plastic handle. They are maybe about a pound heavier with the metal shaft that runs from handle end through the cushion end. Smaller kids likely cannot swing these effectively in practice but they are really students anyhow so they would be on the receiving end. For teenagers and adults, this allows for a better impact to block. They swing well and have good cushion and their extra weight just feels better than lighter ones. We tested a few different swings in the living room(of all places) and they felt great. The padded part for the hand to grab them are good for teenagers and great for adults as it adds to the grip plus being a little cushioned if a student steps into a swing and gets struck by that part. I think the only part of this that is little help is the string because it is too long. Now both do have a little adjuster on them to make the loop shorter but you still have that long string trailing. The string goes through two holes about an inch and a half down from the end of the handle so this can easily be replaced or even shortened so no extra string to get in the way or caught on anything, like a student. It can also simply be eliminated and we will decide that in the dojang but it will not stay full length. Overall, this feels well made and should last for a long time, under normal use.

I'm short so I've been looking for something to simulate blocking for my players while practicing their hitting. With how long the sticks on this product are, I thought they'd work great. I've used them at a couple practices now and they do exactly as I hoped and will be a good tool going forward to practice learning how to work around a block while hitting/tipping. I also coach basketball so this will also be good to learn how to shoot over tall players or to create a boundary during defense between the player/coach. Although there is padding on these, I don't know how much I would want to use them for something like martial arts. I did karate growing up and the padded blocker I had at that time had really thick padding so it was good to use for continual strikes without worrying about it causing bruising or fatigue. The padding on these are pretty dense so I feel like continual strikes would start to hurt. But for the purposes I plan to use them, they will be great.

I love these sticks. It really helps the kids with drills in basketball. The sticks are very good quality. Easy to to take apart to make them more portable. I find these to be great training tools when I coach basketball to the kids. These sticks would really work well for karate as well. These sticks can withstand contact and should last awhile. Great training tool to add to any sporting equipment.

These are very lightweight, but a good size for any age. I'm a 6'2" adult man, and I had a blast playing with my 4-year-old (who was strong enough to wield this with two hands) and my 10-year-old. We ended up cutting off the strings on the bottom, but have had a great time playing with these. I'll likely buy more when these get worn out. 5 stars!
