I've got a couple of 30 amp cords, this is by far the best one in my favorite. You can tell it's premium just feeling the insulation and the plugs. It's very flexible. Literally five times as flexible as another cheaper 30 amp cord I have. I've been running my welder from my generator using it and have had zero issues so far. This is a top-of-the-line premium generator cord for a price that's closer to the budget cords. I always update my post if I see anything in the future that throws up red flags for long-term durability, but as of now it's a five-star!

This is a heavy-duty, well-made cable that will easily handle the rated loads. Unlike some other thick cables, this one is very flexible, letting you coil it up quite tightly even though it's quite thick, and even when it's very cold. The plugs are molded on and engage very positively, and the molding has strain relief to help protect the very heavy cable. A 15ft cable isn't very long, and you really want to keep any generator as far as possible from point of use or entrance to a building, so consider a longer cable for most applications. The price is fair for the amount of heavy copper wire involved, and it has ETL listing, so I trust it for household and commercial use. This cable will fit your F150 hybrid and other generators with split phase 30A, but you may need ground isolation to prevent ground loops and tripping the generator's GFCI. Good buy!

High quality generator cableThe Ficstar 30 amp 4 prong (locking) generator cable is designed to work with typical 125/ 240 VAC home generators. The male end ( prongs) are inserted into the generator outlet and the female end goes into the weatherproof male receptacle that is attached to the house. Before you buy be sure see some videos on safely connecting your generator to your home electrical system. The cable comes with a rather nice cable hanger so I may neatly store the cable on the wall next to the generator.The 4 wire setup on the generator cable is the same type as most other 30 amp 240VAC generator plugs. Once you setup is properly wired, you can get power out of your 125 volt outlets and out of your 240 volt outlets.The product description itself appears to be accurate. However, there is an error in the "Buy it with" section of the description. The (female) plug receptacle is incorrect. You need the male - prong (125/240 VAC)version of the weatherproof box.The claim that the cable will work at -40 degrees F was important. Today it was 20 degrees F outside and I checked to see if the cable became stiff due to the cold weather. -- The cable was unaffected by the cold weather. My next test involved putting the cable in a freezer that was running at -10 degrees F. The cable stiffness was also unaffected by the low temperature of the freezer. The cable plug ends are molded into the cable -- that is important in a cable used outdoors and in potentially wet locations. The 15 foot cable was adequate in my particular situation but buyers should be aware that most electrical codes require a ten or 15 foot distance between a house and the generator in order to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning. Most users will want a 25 or 40 foot version of this product. Overall, this a high quality generator cable that should last for many years.

Pros:- Heavy Duty 10AWG cables.- Molded Twist Lock Plug Connectors.- Molded on Strain Reliefs.- ETL Certified.- Working Temperature to -50 F.- Carrying Strap to keep Cord Organized.Cons:- 15ft may be a little short.This Ficstar 30Amp 4-Prong Extension cord is nicely heavy duty and remains flexible down to -50F. An absolute necessity if you live in a location that gets COLD in the winter. It can be very frustrating if the power goes out in the winter and you can't unroll your extension cord to plug into the backup generator because the cord is frozen stiff from the low temperatures.The molded plug ends and strain reliefs are appreciated for durability. I have had many times where the plug end separates from the cable (especially in cold weather) because the plug was not molded to the cord or the casing separated at the plug because there was no strain relief.While it is easy to store and carry, a 15ft cord length is kind of minimal when connecting up a generator to a panel. Fortunately, Ficstar also offers these extension cords in 25ft and 40ft lengths. You can always use a extension cord that is longer than your needs. You can never stretch an extension cord that is too short to reach.
