I'm using this in a solid wood planter on the deck. It was easy to cut to shape it and I got the felt into the planter before the frost but I really won't know how well it works until later in the spring.It comes vacuum packed and puffs up slightly when it's taken out. The length is listed as 80", it was a couple of inches short but I'm not concerned enough about 2" to take off a star.The texture feels reasonably robust.For the price, for now, I'm rating it 5. After a growing season I'll be in a better position to say how well it holds up and will adjust the review if necessary.

I got this as an alternative to the straw like material which breaks down over time. The straw stuff also doesn't create a barrier to hold water in so I have to line the bottom and sides with plastic which tends to rot. I'm hoping this creates a more uniform barrier so water stays in the soil instead of running through.I used it on 2 10" baskets by cutting along the folds. I cut one into a round shape for the bottom, and then used 3 for the sides. It sticks up above the wire so after filling with dirt and the plant, I simply trimmed along the rim. It's a little tricky but with patience and testing, you'll find a pattern that works.So far so good and I'm hoping this is a long-term solution.

When I saw a roll in the photo, I allowed my imagination to run wild and imagine lots of liner; it arrives folded in a plastic bag and appears shorter than the stated 80" (and width looks shorter too) but I didn't measure it so it could be. A little goes a long way so I'm still happy. It's a somewhat heavy, dense felt and will work well with my strawberry plants as a good liner; coir disintegrates and molds too easily. I've priced thick felt at several suppliers and the price offered here is a bargain.

This is thicker than I expected, although I think that might be helpful in a liner. That way it won't sag under the weight of soil, nor wear through very quickly. Seems quite heavy-duty.

This seems to be a nice tight matrix for filtration and support in hanging pots, planters or in box planters for water reclamation and reuse like in hydroponics with additional air stones for backup filtration.Another valued part of my accumulation of parts for my indoor vegetable tent in the works.

The felt is nice and thick and stiff. Just what I was looking for. I'm using it for an alternate purpose and this stuff fits the bill perfectly. It's a nice weight and seems to be good quality. I'm very happy with it.
