I used to use sanitary pads stuck to the inside of flower pots to maintain moisture. These sheets will spread the moisture out better and are cheaper. When potting soil dries out it shrinks. All the water runs around the outside and out the drainage holes rather than sinking in. These sheets will prevent that.
