Worked well several smelts. Then when I tried to fit with larger diameter crucible than turns out these could handle, the welding came apart so they wouldn't come together well/much wider than before. This is just bc lever has a lot of force when you try to close normally on something too big for jaws. I tried to see what would happen when I bent back into shape and they twisted in another location to make totally inoperable (already were probably unsalvagably unsafe). Would be great if they offered more shaped like this larger and thicker for larger crucibles and not damaging when you try (also would be nice if there was a smaller one shaped same on Amazon for that matter). Am repurchasing but need to handle with kit gloves and not demo for sizing as mechanical advantage will cause them to self destruct under normal force you'd just use to close and lift

When I received this, I tried it with my crucibles before using it with molten metal. Because the leverage works against the user, even with an unloaded crucible, I did not feel it would be safe for me to handle a large crucible of molten metal. I returned the one I bought.
